Aaron Rothfolk

Senior Geophysicist

Aaron Rothfolk is Calpine’s Senior Geophysicist at The Geysers, where his job is essentially to “listen to the rocks.” Backed by years of experience interpreting subsurface data for energy projects across the U.S., Aaron monitors real-time seismicity to support safe, responsible energy production. As a long-time naturalist guide outside of his geophysics role, he has spent over a decade helping people connect with the fascinating history of the land and the natural forces that shape it. Aaron volunteers for community tours to foster a shared curiosity about the planet, celebrate sustainable energy, and show visitors firsthand what makes The Geysers such a remarkable asset.
