Calpine’s Geothermal Visitor Center in Middletown, California, is open to the public, free of charge. Our 6,500-square foot-facility promotes geothermal education and serves as a community meeting and event venue. Offering interactive displays depicting geothermal energy at The Geysers, the Calpine Geothermal Visitor Center is also the starting point for most tours. Our tours share the history and geology of The Geysers, providing a behind-the-scenes look at our power production technologies and two innovative recycled water-to-electricity projects.
